Today we checked into our adorable B&B in northern New Jersey’s lake country. We spent the morning tubing down the Delaware River, with NJ on one side and PA on the other! It was really fun and relaxing, except Rasmus saw a 3′ long carp fish swim underneath us. (photos to come! we have to develop our underwater camera first 🙂 )
After tubing at the Twin Rivers Tubing company, in Phillipsburg NJ, we continued north to Sussex county NJ. Our entire drive consisted of rolling hills of corn fields, farmhouses, corner shops, and clear skies. It was the perfect day for a country drive.
Our gps steered us down a long winding road, with a forest on one side, and a lilly pad and reed filled body of water on the other. A sweet wooden sign, “The Wooden Duck
” guided us up the driveway. This is our home for the next few days! We were greeted and checked in by the cheerful and knowledgeable owners Jason and Maryann. Jason gave us a beautiful tour of the main and carriage houses, mapped out all of the trails for us, as well as the kayak and bike rental shop down the street. The house is also equipped with soda, movies, cookies, a perfectly kept pool, tv rooms, fireplace, and more. Our personal room is also set up with absolutely everything we need, and with beautiful linens.
We then spent the afternoon with my uncle and aunt, who have a home nearby, as well as their two children. They gave us a hugely warm welcome, and drove us around the area for hours – what a treat! We had a delicious dinner with them as well! <3
Tomorrow will be another fun filled day 🙂
