On Thursday we took a train from Vienna to Bratislava! For just €16 roundtrip per person, on a one hour train, it was a no-brainer. We arrived and took a bus from the train station to the city center.
My first impressions were what I assumed Eastern Europe to look like – run down, but very cool. The people were SO friendly. In first cafe we stopped at the barista man was so excited to speak to us, shared that his sister lived in Oslo, then gave us restaurant tips for lunch! One cappuccino and one Espresso = €3.50
As we walked I saw a nail salon, I’ve been doing my own since I moved to Europe because everything in Norway is so expensive, and I knew I had to go in. An OPI gel manicure in Bratislava? €15! (About €80-100 in Oslo).
We continued on our journey and went up to the Hrad castle. It had a beautiful view of the city, and a wishing well that Rasmus tossed a coin into 🙂
For lunch we went to the Pulitzer cafe which had been recommended to us and had an AMAZING lunch!
