Today Rasmus and I arrived back in Oslo after three weeks in California! It was a wonderful trip and I am so glad I was able to spend quality time with my sister and her family, visit old friends, and my old “places.” While leaving them is always hard, Norway is definitely my home.
First and foremost, the best part of this trip was seeing my sister, her husband, and their three children. I haven’t seen them in months! It’s amazing how lively, grown up, and smart they are!
Rasmus and I also had an incredible time on our road trip to Oregon and Northern California going on wild back road adventures slash run ins with bears, staying at interesting motels, visiting every quirky & kitschy gift shops, and just having an amazing anniversary vacation together.
I’m so grateful to also have been able to catch up with a lot of old friends! I didn’t plan too well as I was focused on spending time with my family this trip, but next year I hope to see everyone!
Certainly deserving of it’s own post (actually book), was my re-connection with my old horse Achak (now called Zeus). I owned him for two years, after adopting him from a racehorse rescue I was volunteering with. I owe my life to this horse. It was so amazing seeing him, and so heartwarming that he remembered me, in fact he wouldn’t leave my side for the 2.5 hours we were there! I am so grateful for his new owner Cheryl and all of the amazing women who took care of me out in California. ❤ Achak is living his best life now, and so am I… I like to think we helped each other grow and change for the best over those years.
